An Essential Business Advice service user dismissed an employee
for gross misconduct after a disciplinary hearing concluded there
was evidence that he had claimed expenses fraudulently. The matter
was referred to an employment tribunal.

Our client had sought and followed the advice given by the
Essential Business Advice service and the tribunal found that his
procedures were totally correct and dismissed the application -
the costs of the hearing were covered by the legal expenses insurance.
