Can an employer change hours, pay, holiday entitlement
etc?
|
| A |
Where employers wish to improve the contract terms
there is rarely a disagreement with the employee! But where economic
necessity requires changes to these terms, in effect requesting
the employee to agree to reductions, the employer must consult with
the employee to obtain their agreement to that course of action.
If no agreement is reached, it may become necessary
to dismiss the employee, which you should not do without taking
detailed advice about the procedure to follow, as there is a potential
risk of an unfair dismissal claim.
